An announcement from Ms. Dhinakaran

Following a medical trauma in 2019, I have been on a sabbatical from the law practise. On account of this, the practice is unable to take on any new clients or cases until further notice. I can, however, undertake referrals for requests for legal opinions from staff associations/unions as well as individual staff members. For any further enquiries, please contact Ms. Margo van Dun, Executive Assistant, at contact.dilc@gmail.com. We will endeavour to respond to your queries within one week.

I thank everyone who has extended their best wishes to me and my family for a quick and full recovery. I have been overwhelmed by the positive support and am very grateful to have served such wonderful clients.

WELCOME

The international civil servant never quite belongs.

- Kenneth Carlston

As Carlston pointed out, the exercise of contractual or employment rights is not straightforward for international civil servants, inter alia, owing to the immunity of international organisations. The law applicable to their employment relationships and the procedures to be followed in case of its violation are not always clear.

Dhinakaran International Law Consultancy specialises in assisting international civil servants on such matters, including representing them in appeals before the internal appeals bodies and before specialized international administrative tribunals such as the United Nations Dispute Tribunal, United Nations Appeals Tribunal, and the International Labour Organization Administrative Tribunal. Assistance is also provided to Staff Associations on conditions of service and in  negotiations with Administration.

As part of the services offered, research on issues relating to public international law, law of international organisations and international civil service law is also conducted in an extensive manner.
